Primary Picture shoot creative, conceptual images for the stock photography market. We have a broad focus covering business and lifestyle imagery. Our ambition is to create thought provoking pictures that are of interest to the image conscious and of course... sell.

We feel very fortunate to be able to work in an area we absolutely love doing. It ties up our main strengths which are conceptualisation, photography and image retouching. We generate all concepts, build our own sets and make our own props – the majority of which are done on a very small budget. We rigorously plan our shoots and spend a great deal of time pre-photo session choosing props, locations and then post-shoot editing and retouching the final images.

If you're business looking for specific imagery, need retouching or training so you can work in-house we can help. We provide custom photo shoots so you can get exactly the right image or picture set you need. We offer a retouching service, costing £60 per hour (charged in 15 minute blocks). We also offer training in image manipulation at all levels using the defacto image editing software Adobe Photoshop and workflow software Adobe Photoshop Lightroom. Training costs are dependent on your specific requirements and location.

Primary Picture is a collaboration between Peter Booth (art director/photographer) and Alexandra Day (photographer). Peter trained as a graphic designer and has worked as an art director both in the UK and Asia mainly in magazine publishing for eighteen years. After graduating from college Alex worked as a freelance photographer for various publishing companies before opening her own studio. Together they have gained extensive experience organising successful photo shoots.
